Mayor Jerry Jordan
Jerry Jordan
Mayor

First, I want to humbly thank everyone for the opportunity to serve as your City Mayor. How time flies by, I'm three and one third years in to my 4-year term.

Fiscal year 2022-2023 was very busy for me. I had been working in the recorder's office  to ensuring the city is functioning as needed to serve the public in many differant areas, since then we hired Audra Gerty as our new city recorder which has taken a load of time off me.
She brings a huge amount of experience to this office and I look forward to working with her.

Our police department is committed to getting drugs off the street. We purchase a K-9 dog name Zero, Sergeant T.J. Brown is the handler and the department has made many arrest for drug activities.

We have opened our city pool for the second consecutive year. This is a very expensive task to open and maintain the pool but the rewards are great for the kids and adults.

I commend Hometown Services Coalition for all the upgrades at Cunningham Park with playground equipment and Ralph Stout Park as well. They have constructed a new skate park pad with plans to install new ramps. They had contibuted many hours and dollars to improve our parks.

For safety and a better walking expierence Mountain Electric have installed several new poles with LED lighting for us at Ralph Stout. We have been approved for a Community Development Block Grant CDBG. This grant will allow us to construct a new restroom and improve the practice field that can be used for youth football and soccer.

Our EDA #04-79-07468 grant is completed. Total amount of this project was $2,065,958 We revieved $1,601,400 in federal funding for the this project. we have made much improvements in our Waste Water System.

All of the city department's have highspeed internet services. We plan to replace our phone system in the future.

Our Town is a great place to live; it has a reputation of being very friendly and many volunteers come together to meet the needs of our seniors, children, and youth.

Feel free to contact me with ideas you have that could benefit our Town and community. My email is jjordan@mountaincitytn.org or home phone is (423) 727-7238.
